I was just about to post in this thread with a well-thought out post, when all of a sudden, I get the Pop-up lock of death (the error message that says the thread has been locked).

I really don't have any bone to pick with any Moderator. If I do find a continuing bad trend in, say, lack of judgment (here's looking at you, gumonshoe), I'll probably mention or complain about it here. Hopefully it will be taken lightheartedly and considered constructive criticism.

I've only once seen a serious abuse of power and that was when one moderator decided to make a thread where, if people posted in it, they would be banned, which was the sole purpose of the thread.

All in all, the Moderators are just doing their job the way they see fit, while still having fun along the way. Nobody can be serious all the time.

I was thinking of a new feature for the NG BBS, a feature that caters to the posters that take that extra bit of time to look over their posts for spelling errors or just add more. The idea at hand? Well, when someone clicks on the post button, while the thread is unlocked, they're of course aloud to post. That can quickly change when a moderator comes around and deems the thread to be unfit for proper conversation, even if it offers some conversation.

So how about a feature that allows users to post in locked threads, if they have a reasonably informational / long post, BUT only if they've typed what they've said meanwhile the topic was locked, unknown to them while they were typing away in that orange text box.

This would only require quick moderation if the post were put on hold and the thread status label turned purple (example pic below).

So, what does everybody think? Anything to add? Modify? Contribute?
